Day 1 — The Market Square and the Gnomes
Begin your trip at the Rynek (Market Square), one of Central Europe's largest medieval squares. At its heart lies the Gothic-Renaissance Town Hall with its 15th-century astronomical clock. From here, start your hunt for Wroclaw's famous bronze gnomes. Originating as an anti-communist protest symbol in the 1980s, over 350 gnomes are now scattered across the city.
In the afternoon, wander south to the Four Denominations District, where a Catholic, Lutheran, and Orthodox church stand alongside a synagogue. The area perfectly encapsulates the city's layered history. Finish your evening with traditional Polish pierogi and a local craft beer in the Old Town.
Day 2 — Cathedral Island and Centennial Hall
Cross the Oder River to Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island), the oldest part of Wroclaw. The Gothic twin towers of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist dominate the skyline. If you visit in the evening, you can watch the traditional lamp lighter illuminating the original gas lamps.
Take a tram to Centennial Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage reinforced concrete dome from 1913. Afterward, explore Nadodrze, the city's creative quarter filled with independent cafes, vintage shops, and street murals, offering a vibrant local vibe away from the crowds.
